School Committee

Description

A school committee must be responsive to its constituencies in governance, sensitive to the diverse needs of all learners, an advocate for students and learning before the people of the community and, as such, a vigorous ambassador for public education before all citizens.

-Massachusetts Association of School Committees

The School Committee for the Richmond Consolidated School is dedicated to overseeing the policies, operations and budget for the school.  While the School Committee does not direct day-to-day operations or resolve routine issues — those are among the responsibilities of the superintendent and the principal — the Committee oversees school-related issues in a very broad sense, and is committed at all times to acting in the best interests of the children.  Its primary responsibilities are to establish the educational vision and goals for the district, approve the budget, establish policies for the district, and hire and evaluate the Superintendent.

The School Committee is composed of three elected members of the Richmond community who serve staggered three-year terms.  The current members of the School Committee are:

Lauren Broussal, Chairperson (413.698.3461, broussal@gmail.com

Christine Triantos (413.698.2421, ctriantos@nycap.rr.com)

Dewey Wyatt (413.698.3875, dmwyatt@nycap.rr.com)

The Richmond Consolidated School currently has openings in several classes.
