Shaun Kennedy
Shaun Kennedy is the 1st grade teacher at Richmond Consolidated School. He graduated from Westfield State College in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. He is certified in Elementary Education (K-6) and is currently attending school for his Master’s degree in Moderate Disabilities. This is his 6th year of teaching. Mr. Kennedy had the unique opportunity to teach kindergarten at a charter school in Hawaii for 3 years before moving back home to the Berkshires.
Mr. Kennedy believes in creating a fun and engaging learning environment where the children become active participants in their learning. He likes to think of himself as a facilitator in the classroom, where he can aid the children in becoming independent learners who have a stake in their education. Mr. Kennedy loves to incorporate different types of learning styles, differentiated learning, and blend curriculums throughout activities. He has been trained in unique teaching methodologies which he uses in the classroom in many different aspects. He incorporates Quantum Learning, Total Quality Learning, and F.I.E., as well as Responsive Classroom.
Aside from teaching, Mr. Kennedy enjoys painting and drawing, playing music, and spending time with family and friends.
